A focused browser-based design tool

Wood inlay design software that understands the parts behind the pattern.

WoodMinded Designer connects visual composition with the measurements, angles, gaps, materials, and quantities needed to prepare a geometric woodworking project.

Design at the size of the finished work

Generic illustration software can create an attractive composition, but it often separates the drawing from workshop dimensions. WoodMinded begins with the real board size and keeps every placed part in the same measured workspace.

Use recognizable wood tones to plan contrast, then give each part its actual length, width, rotation, and end geometry.

02

Connect real edges instead of rectangular boxes

Rotated slats and polygonal parts do not meet at their bounding boxes. WoodMinded evaluates the outside edges, corners, endpoints, centerlines, and guides that matter to the visible pattern.

Snap previews make the intended connection visible before it is committed, while free movement remains available when a deliberate offset is needed.

  • Magnetic polygon edges and endpoints
  • Half and quarter symmetry
  • Alignment, spacing, grouping, and layers
  • Reusable personal pattern library
  • Zoom up to 600 percent for small intersections
03

Move from design to a structured cut list

When the composition is ready, WoodMinded groups matching parts by material, dimensions, cut angles, gaps, and quantity. Export the result for workshop preparation without recreating the design in a separate spreadsheet.

WoodMinded is not a CNC CAM package or a stock-nesting optimizer. It is designed for planning geometric compositions and describing their parts accurately.

Practical answers

Questions about this workflow.

Do I need to install the software?

No. WoodMinded Designer runs in a modern desktop or laptop browser.

Can I design in inches?

Yes. Projects can use metric or imperial measurements, with imperial values shown as practical fractions or decimals.

Does WoodMinded generate CNC toolpaths?

No. It generates pattern views and structured workshop cut lists, not G-code or CNC toolpaths.
